Although it checks for uniqueness, the numbers could still be greater than 9
You initialize the depth variable in the loop but reuse it outside the loop.
It work for this exercise in this language but in some language the variable would stop existing after exiting the loop.
For avoid this kind of error, it may be more wise to initialize your depth variable before the loop.

I get that you split the string
and then you send the argument of accumulator, and current value to reduce() method
which then checks if the accumulator is the current value? if it is increment else add 1
return the accumalor, or an emepty object?
