Indeed, the solution does not work for bigger strings.
I will rewrite the Kata to consider the mentioned behavior. The idea of creating stream wrappers is to properly handle streams (using less memory, since we do not need the entire text in memory) and it does not make sense if the wrapper only deals with a single chunk.
This is not really a kata issue, since it's considered cheating.
RC4 is a stream cipher, so its internal state should be kept throughout the lifetime of the entire stream. However none of the tests encrypt data in more than 1 chunks (
file_put_contents
chunk data per8192
bytes by default). In the end every existing solution (including author solution) doeswhich is plain wrong because RC4 cannot be composed like this. The correct encryption should be
