it's not a kata issue if you can't tell what going on, it's for when the kata is broken, instead you could post as a question. my question to you is, are you printing or returning the result?
the kata is broken? keeps saying i failed the test cases but my answer looks exactly like the answer requested?

Why FIELD contains strings?
Description should specify if it's FIELD[y][x] or FIELD[x][y].
