Haskell: Sample tests give the following error:

      test/DaysRepresented/JorgeVS/KataSpec.hs:8:34: error:
          Empty 'do' block
        |
      8 | it " [(10,15), (25,35)] " $ do
        | ^^

      test/DaysRepresented/JorgeVS/KataSpec.hs:11:42: error:
          Empty 'do' block
         |
      11 | it " [(2,8), (220,229),(10,16)] " $ do

Rewording the phrase "A single day cannot count for more than one day." could lead to something like: "If there are no colleagues present on a certain day, this day does not count as daysRepresented. If there are one ore more colleagues present on a certain day, this day will only count as one daysRepresented."

Both departure and arrival days count as daysRepresented, which shows the difference between this kata and the other kata earlier mentioned.

      Hope this helps.

I also checked the kata you are referring to, but it is different; the solution for that kata is not valid for this kata.

By your own admission people need to search through the comments to find a clue how to solve this kata. That's not acceptable, the description should be sufficient.
Still, I cannot give a suggestion because I don't understand the description, nor the example given.
You really need to think of rewording the description, and you can borrow from the kata mentioned by bluiisdave.

In my opinion the explanation is clear enough. This is a real world problem which is not always defined like a formal mathematical problem. A bit of searching in all the comments gives away the clue. If you want a more precise description of the same problem, visit the kata mentioned by bluiisdave, the second post below this one.

Anyway, if you have a suggestion, feel free to post it.

Description lacks detail to solve kata without guessing. The cryptic "A single day cannot count for more than one day." doesn't help either.

E.g. why is the expected value 268, and not 266, for this input?
      {{198,249},{158,206},{280,334},{44,66},{277,306},{103,143},{293,358},{181,197},{249,271},{219,223},{46,47},{36,55}}

See the reply to pini85's question. Also the 3x3 blocks should contain nine different numbers. Your example table does not fulfill this requirement.

At first this looks like a 5kyu. But at the end it has nice and simple solution. But I still think it's 6 kyu. Very nice kyu!

A hint is not a suggestion. This is explained on the codewars community page.

Suggestion - if you have an idea how the author could change the kata, its description, or tests, to make it better.

      Suggestion marked as resolved.
