When it comes to learning a new language its absolutely fine to use built in functions. If it's your first time ever doing something like this then I agree, you should learn the logic behind it first, but in almost all cases you should totally be making the most out of built in functions since there is no reason to reinvent the wheel for something like this most of the time.

Neat Kata. You need to look up how to get the type name as a string.

Yeah, the solution isn't easy to find since you have to cast the type name as a string in order to compare it.

If you're doing this in JavaScript, you can ignore all the comments below. It's genuinely the simplest 8-kyu I've come across. Thanks for the straightforward introductory kata.

Using Python, that took way too long to be an 8kyu. This was a great learning experience, but I spent way more time doing research than writing any code.
