We actually did stop making kata without Example tests. These days, a Beta kata without Example tests will have an Issue in the blink of an eye, and will never be approved without them.

That said: Yes, back in the day it was not unusual to require solvers to write their own example tests if they wanted them. And you still have the ability to do so. ( I sometimes edit or expand the provided example tests ).

Did you check the publication date on this kata?

OK I wrote a solution with a closure, it works when I check it in browser console. But where are the tests to verify my solution??? Seriously someone expects me to write my own tests? LOL! I've no clue how to write tests. Come on guys, stop making katas without tests, pointless.

Also think closures are a more difficult concept.

You have not created any collections yet.

Collections are a way for you to organize kata so that you can create your own training routines. Every collection you create is public and automatically sharable with other warriors. After you have added a few kata to a collection you and others can train on the kata contained within the collection.

Get started now by creating a new collection.

You must wait until you have earned at least 20 honor before you can create new collections.

Set the name for your new collection. Remember, this is going to be visible by everyone so think of something that others will understand.
