This solution counts the chars for every char. It's redudant work being done. Might be slow.
Does column order even matter at all if we're using Arel without any raw SQL? After the results are turned into an object the notion of key (column) order basically disappears, so...

Well, you could simply make the reference solution a lambda and call it for each test, but this works too.
