I agree and there should be a hint for the spaces in some of the tests. Also, leading zeros are mentioned in the instructions as invalid, but there acctually are no tests checking for them.
3 kyu? i'd say 3 kyu if my solution did not work. perhaps add test cases that would make my solution fail, in order to force a better solution and deserve the 3 kyu.

Indeed. The description should change or all test cases should be square matrices.
