But I'm not sure I understand this (in release):

"If the released block is adjacent to another free block, the two blocks should be merged to form a larger free block. Releasing an unallocated block should cause an exception."

If there is a fixed length for the array at the beginning, it shouldn't change and we shouldn't be able to merge unallocated blocks, right? Or am I missing something?
