I like how simple and straightforward this one is--and practical.

When I first saw the 'Translation' feature I interpreted it literally and got excited since I used to work as a freelance translator. Any plans to allow users to contribute by translating katas into non-English languages?

That took me a long time to figure out, but was a fun puzzle and helped me see the value of pattern recognition (and starting slow and simple when abstract mathematical problem-solving isn't your forte). I slowly plotted out my system, going through each number of cakes from 1 to 14, trying out all the possibilities for each move, until I noticed clear patterns. Then when I tried out what I had come up with it worked :D

Thanks, this was a fun kata to do--clear, straightforward instructions but still more challenging than I thought it would be. I liked how there are several different ways to approach it, allowing room for creativity.

That was a fun kata--thanks for the thought put into it! I just had a few suggestions for making the language clearer. As I can see others point out below, I thought that the 'words' in Rule 4 were space-delimited words, not possibly part of larger words (i.e. because-->bcause). I was also initially confused about whether the character replacements were case-sensitive or not and whether the character count excluded just the punctuation marks we were explicitly told to remove (.,') or all punctuation marks.

you dont need the moderator, if actual would be equal to expected your logic and tests will pass ;)

If we want to do this kata for javascript, how do we get a moderator to switch the test conditions (expected and actual) so we can pass the kata? I'm confused...
